Romain began his career in a law firm specializing in spatial planning, urban development, and environmental law.

His main areas of expertise are urban planning law, civil real estate law (construction law, property law, real estate contracts, etc.), and real estate tax law. He is also involved in environmental law (management of polluted soils, etc.) and public real estate law (public procurement, expropriation, public domain, etc.).

He participates as a speaker at conferences and training cycles. He is the author of several publications on urban planning and environmental law, as well as real estate and insurance law.

Romain is a substitute judge at the Court of First Instance of Hainaut.

He is a member of the French-speaking Belgian Association for Spatial Planning, Urban Development, and Environmental Law.
