Sigrid Van Rompaey was admitted to the Brussels Bar in 2009, she joined the Antwerp Bar in 2014. Sigrid was a case-manager at the Belgian Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (CEPANI) from 2011 to 2014 and was a CEPANI40 Co-Chair from 2018 to 2022. She was appointed as expert-advisor to the CEPANI Secretariat.

Her preferred areas of practice are domestic and international arbitration in the field of commercial litigation and contracts. She also acts as counsel for the state of Belgium before domestic and international courts.

Sigrid regularly sits as an arbitrator in institutional (CEPANI, ICC), as well as ad hoc arbitration proceedings. She also acts as counsel in arbitration and related state court proceedings.

She is ranked in Who’s Who Legal as a Future Leader in arbitration and in The Legal 500 Arbitration Powerlist – Benelux Region.

Sigrid has written a number of publications in the field of national and international arbitration.

She is fluent in Dutch, English, and French.
